Getting to know Road to Pro: Kenny Brady

Editor’s Note: Over the next few weeks, we will be profiling and featuring drivers that can be seen on the Road to Pro Qualifying series broadcasts on the Podium eSports Twitch channel. We hope you enjoy reading these and learning about the drivers. This time we have sat down with Kenny Brady. You can view all of our Getting to Know profiles on this page.

What was the first racing game you ever played?

The first racing game ever I played was NASCAR 09 on the Xbox 360. I was gifted an Xbox way back in 2008 and that’s where gaming started for me.

When did you first discover iRacing and what got you hooked?

I had been online league racing on the Xbox 360 for plenty of years, running in various series including NORC and Axalta Cup Series. Then I discovered iRacing via YouTube after coming across someone’s in-car video, after that I knew that iRacing had to be my next step towards online competition.

How did you get connected with your current team that’s assisting you in Road to Pro?

Currently, I’m with a few friends that I have known for a good bit. However, I introduced myself to Andrew (Team Setup Builder) last October after the 2021 Road to Pro campaign ended in hopes to connect and see what we could do in the C Open races. Fortunately, it has paid off and Andrew has been the foundation of our group.

Who is your favorite race car driver? And why?

Ever since I started watching NASCAR back in 2009, I’ve been a die-hard Kyle Busch fan. No matter what anyone says to him, he continues to turn the other way and prove his haters wrong. I feel with my career on iRacing that is my biggest motivation for years to come. Not to mention he’s a damn wheelman.

If you could go to any racetrack and watch a race live, where would you want to go?

I would love to go to a race out west, preferably Las Vegas. I was born there and haven’t been back since I was 2 years old.

What is a skill or talent that you have that not many people know about?

I used to race in real life. I competed in Bandolero and Legends cars from 2016-2021, ultimately I hung up the helmet due to other life goals, but I’ve learned a ton of skills from those years.

Also, I play a lot of Farming Simulator

For anyone watching you race, who wants to end up where you are, what advice do you have for them?

This might sound cheesy or something standard someone would say, but work hard and never give up. I don’t have the best story through iRacing, I’ve had a lot of bumps in the road but I still compete and still try to be the best I can be. Having a lot of seat time and surrounding yourself with good people is the key to success on iRacing.
