Monday Night Racing returns May 2nd

Monday Night Racing season 4 champion Adam Cabot will have an opportunity to defend his title beginning May 2nd. That is when the fifth season of Monday Night Racing kicks off at the Daytona International Speedway.  Cabot won the title in an exciting live in person event, which was broadcast live on the Podium eSports Twitch Channel. Can Cabot become the first repeat season champion for Monday Night Racing Pro series? Only time will tell.

This season will feature new car and track combinations on the schedule, a new Play by Play announcer in Blake McCandless, and a new title sponsor.

Interstate Batteries brings a new level of energy

This season, Interstate Batteries, a well-known name across Motorsports, will become the new title sponsor for Monday Night Racing. For over 30 years, NASCAR fans have seen Interstate Batteries sponsor drivers of the Joe Gibbs Racing team. Drivers such as Bobby LaBonte, Dale Jarrett, Kyle Busch and others have carried the Interstate Batteries decal on their vehicles. “We are thrilled to welcome Interstate Batteries to the Monday Night Racing Pro Series for the summer 2022 season.” said Ford Martin, Founder & Co-Owner of Monday Night Racing.

A 16 week schedule

The season kicks off on May 2nd, and through the summer will see tracks such as Watkins Glen, Eldora, Martinsville and others. You can view the full Monday Night Racing schedule here. The finale will be at the virtual Homestead Miami Speedway using the NASCAR Camping World Trucks on August 29th. The tracks may seem familiar to the drivers; however, the cars being used may be different than what they are used to. Watkins Glen for example, will feature the Pro 2 Trucks in the 3rd race of the season. Meanwhile, the 2nd race will feature the Mazda MX-5 vehicles at Martinsville Speedway. Whoever wins the season 5 title, they will need to show they are well versed in many disciplines of racing.

A new play by Play Announcer

This season will also feature eNASCAR Coca Cola series color commentator, Twitch streamer and the voice of Ace Speedway, Blake McCandless in the Play-by-Play announcer role. McCandless will bring with him over 11 years of iRacing experience, that includes over 500 wins in official iRacing races.
