PODIUM TO BROADCAST 2021 EPM OMEGA CUP SUMMERBOWL

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (May 7, 2021) – Podium eSports has agreed terms with the eRacing Association (ERA) to broadcast their 2021 EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl, to be held May 10-12 at iRacing’s virtual Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas. The main event broadcast will air live May 12 at 9:30 p.m. ET on iRacing’s Twitch, YouTube and Facebook pages.

The EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl is the third event that the eRacing Association has hosted. Founded by NASCAR driver Jesse Iwuji, the eRacing Association is the motorsports sanctioning body and league meant for all virtual and real-world racers, offering tournaments, premium league matchups and a community of other esports racing events.

The main event of the EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl will feature iRacing’s Class A stock cars, used by the drivers in the real-life NASCAR Cup Series, for 40 laps of action-packed racing at Circuit of the Americas. Drivers will race in qualifiers on Monday night to make the field for Wednesday’s main event, where ERA members have the opportunity to earn the $5,000 purse.

The EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl will take place 11 days before COTA hosts its inaugural NASCAR Cup Series event, and one week before the eNASCAR Pro Invitational iRacing Series visits the track. Race fans will be able to tune in to the EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl to preview the racing they will see later in the month.

“We are incredibly excited to bring the EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl to Podium eSports,” said Podium eSports CEO James Pike. “The size and scope of this event is impressive, but ERA’s vision for the future is arguably even more special. We look forward to a successful EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl as the first of many ERA events on Podium.”

The booth for the EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl will feature some of the best talent in sim racing. eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series lead announcer Evan Posocco will return in the same capacity, having led the EPM Omega Cup Winterbowl and Springbowl broadcasts prior. eNASCAR Coca-Cola iRacing Series pit reporter Justin Prince will join an ERA broadcast for the first time, as will Pike, who will be alongside Iwuji and Posocco in the booth.

“The ERA team and I have a huge vision for the eRacing Association”, said Iwuji. “Our sponsors, ERA members and our spectators deserve the best-in-class virtual experience and we feel like this partnership with Podium for the EPM Summerbowl will allow us to deliver that.”

Registration for the EPM Omega Cup Summerbowl ends at midnight ET tonight, and can be found by visiting the eRacing Association website, their Twitter page, or their Facebook page.  For more information about Podium eSports, visit PodiumeSports.com.
