PCA SIM RACING ADDS ENDURANCE RACING AND ZONE GROUP CHALLENGE TO BROADCAST SLATE FOR SPRING 2021

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (Mar. 5, 2021) – Podium eSports and PCA Sim Racing will start year three of their partnership with more racing in the spring than ever before. In addition to Series 6, PCA Sim Racing is introducing the PCA Sim Racing Zone Group Challenge and the PCA Sim Racing TeamRacing Series and, all with support from Hagerty.

PCA Sim Racing’s Zone Group Challenge offers a new form of competition for members to earn bragging rights in. The Zone Group Challenge will run every Friday in March, as the best drivers from each PCA Zone will race to earn a spot in April’s two-week championship series. The inaugural PCA Sim Racing Zone Group Challenge starts this Friday from iRacing’s virtual Watkins Glen International.

The PCA Sim Racing TeamRacing Series answers PCA members’ calls for a PCA Sim Racing endurance series. Drivers will compete in teams and race in events between 90 minutes and three hours in length. The series will contest five rounds in its inaugural season, all in advance of major iRacing Special Events. Round 1 of the PCA TeamRacing Series begins on March 10 at iRacing’s Sebring International Raceway.

PCA Sim Racing’s mainstay returns on April 28 as Series 6 begins at iRacing’s Road America. The Pro and Club classes return to competition in the Porsche 911 GT3 Cup (991) for the first time since the conclusion of Series 3 in 2019, while the Sport and Challenge classes will compete in the RUF RT 12R Track for the first time ever. PCA Sim Racing will also make its first visit to three circuits in Series 6: Brands Hatch, Long Beach, and Imola.

“PCA Sim Racing has been one of the club’s greatest success stories of recent times since its founding two years ago and has brought together Porsche enthusiasts young and old alike across North America,” said Porsche Club of America Marketing Director Jim Hemig. “We are excited to add endurance racing and zone competitions to PCA Sim Racing for 2021 as we look to have our biggest season of PCA Sim Racing yet.”

As PCA Sim Racing and Podium eSports expand their partnership, so has Hagerty with PCA Sim Racing. Hagerty will drive together with PCA Sim Racing as its presenting partner in 2021, and their branding will feature in every PCA Sim Racing broadcast throughout the year.

Hagerty’s increased involvement builds upon a successful 2020 in PCA Sim Racing, in which they were the presenting partner for the Challenge Class in Series 5 and fielded a fleet of custom-livery cars, branded as “Team Hagerty”, in all four PCA Sim Racing classes.

“Motorsports competitors and fans are some of the most passionate groups within the larger automotive community and we want to do whatever we can to support the hobby,” said Justin Moreno, Vice President of Marketing for Hagerty. “Having competed in a PCA Sim Racing series myself, I can honestly say that the dedication and passion among these racers is as real as it gets. We are ecstatic to be partnering with the PCA and their sim racing program to support these drivers and look forward to a thrilling year of racing.”

“PCA Sim Racing is the premier road racing series at Podium eSports and our longest-standing partnership in the company’s history, so we are thrilled to return for the third season of competition,” said Podium eSports CEO James Pike. “We expect the new forms of competition to draw even more fans to the high level of competition PCA Sim Racing has to offer.”
