FURTHER DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR PODIUM eSPORTS ROAD SERIES
CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Beginning August 11, Podium eSports will host the Podium eSports Road Series featuring iRacing’s Class A car. The series will take the most popular stock car in iRacing to some of the best road courses around the world.
The series will run for nine weeks, running every other Sunday. It will travel to road courses in the United States, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.
Instead of a season-end purse, all prize money will be paid out as individual race winnings to the top five finishers. The champion of the Podium eSports Road Series will receive a trophy and automatic entry into a future Podium eSports series or special event of their choosing.
All races of the Road Series will be broadcast on the Podium eSports Network (twitch.tv/podiumesports) and all broadcasts will start at 8:30 p.m. ET.
“We are always looking for ways to challenge drivers with exciting car and track pairings that showcase the abilities of skilled and talented drivers and facilitate great racing,” said Podium eSports Chief Innovation Officer John Theodore. “The current Class A car is extremely enjoyable and challenging to drive on road courses, and we’re very excited to showcase this with a world touring series.”
Drivers can apply for a Season Pass today on the Podium eSports website. The Road Series Season Pass is available for $45, and all Season Pass holders will be guaranteed a starting spot in every race so long as they attempt to qualify or contact a Podium eSports Officer before each race.
Single-Race Passes are available for $5 and can be purchased by contacting a Podium eSports Managing Member. Registration forms and the series rulebook are available on Podium eSports’ website, www.podiumesports.com.
