FURTHER DETAILS ANNOUNCED FOR PODIUM eSPORTS OVAL SERIES

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Beginning August 4, Podium eSports will host the Podium eSports Oval Series featuring iRacing’s Class B car and Class C truck. The series will be the only one on iRacing to feature multiclass stock car racing on the same track.

The series will run for nine weeks, running every other Sunday with off weeks on Labor Day Weekend and Thanksgiving. It will travel to a mixture of 1.5-mile ovals, short tracks and international tracks to determine the best drivers in the Class B and Class C vehicles.

The Oval Series will function as two series in one, with separate points kept for the Class B and Class C drivers. Overall points will not be kept in the Oval Series.

Instead of a season-end purse, all prize money will be paid out as individual race winnings to the top five finishers in both classes. The top three drivers in the points standings of both classes will receive trophies, and the champions of both classes will receive automatic entry into future Podium eSports special events or series.

All races of the Oval Series will be broadcast on the Podium eSports Network (twitch.tv/podiumesports) and all broadcasts will start at 8:30 p.m. ET.

“We’re very excited to see some of the best oval drivers on the service showcase their talents in a series that will highlight driver ability,” said Podium eSports Chief Innovation Officer John Theodore. “The combination of the Class B and Class C vehicles should create more passing opportunities and offer more exciting racing on tracks that will challenge drivers and thrill fans.”

Season Passes for the iRacers Lounge Oval Series are available for $45. All drivers registering for a Season Pass will be guaranteed a starting spot in every race so long as they attempt to qualify or contact a Podium eSports Officer before each race.

Single-Race Passes are available for $5 and can be purchased by contacting a Podium eSports Officer. Registration forms and the series rulebook are available on Podium eSports’ website, www.podiumesports.com.
