CARS eSPORT TOUR MOVES TO PODIUM eSPORTS FOR 2019

PEYTON, Colo. – Podium eSports will become the new organizer and broadcaster of the CARS eSport Tour for 2019. The CARS eSport Tour season will begin on January 9th and be broadcast live on Podium eSports’ Twitch channel.

The 2019 CARS eSport Tour will also be reformatted to focus on Late Model Stock Car (LMSC) competition. The series will compete using iRacing’s Class D stock car and race primarily on short tracks available through the service. One-third of the schedule features tracks that are free to all iRacing members, while five more tracks are also featured on the Podium eSports Street Stock Series schedule.

The series will feature a 15-race schedule that will run on Wednesday nights through July 2019 and have $1000 in purse money for drivers to win. Its schedule will alternate with the previously-announced Podium eSports Street Stock Series.

All races will qualify drivers via heat races and last chance qualifiers (LCQs). All heat races, LCQs and feature races will be broadcast on Podium eSports’ Twitch channel (www.twitch.tv/podiumesports).

The upcoming season will mark the fourth year of the CARS eSport Tour. The series was originally formed in 2016 and organized by the Championship eSports Association (CEA). Current Podium eSports Chief Competition Officer Kyle Barnes was CEA’s administrator and the CARS eSports Tour’s move to Podium continues a well-established relationship.

“I’m extremely excited to continue the partnership with CARS Tour heading into 2019,” said Podium eSports Chief Competition Officer Kyle Barnes. “Working with the CARS Tour over the past few years has been an honor and I’m looking forward to what we have put together for next season. We’re moving towards a more esport-oriented focus and this will work better for the series and the drivers alike.”

Season passes for the CARS eSport Tour are $35. Registration, rules and a series schedule are all available at www.podiumesports.com.
