PODIUM eSPORTS ANNOUNCES NEW STREET STOCK SERIES
PEYTON, Colo. – Podium eSports has created the Podium eSports Street Stock Series, which will launch in January 2019. This series will compete using the iRacing Street Stock car and run alongside the previously announced Elite and Truck series on Wednesday nights.
Drivers will compete across a 12-race schedule that runs from January to July. The series will race on a variety of track sizes, ranging from the .25-mile Legends Oval at Charlotte Motor Speedway to the 2.5-mile Michigan International Speedway. Half of the schedule features tracks that are free to all iRacing members, making the Street Stock Series accessible to drivers of all experience levels.
“With the Podium eSports Street Stock Series, we have created a new avenue for drivers who have wanted to get involved in sim racing to mix it up with the best of the best,” said Podium eSports Chief Broadcasting Officer James Pike. “We look forward to welcoming everyone into the series for January 2019 and are excited to see what our new drivers bring to the competition.”
The Podium eSports Street Stock series will used fixed setups. Gold and Silver Divisions will be created for the Street Stock Series. Podium eSports will determine the lineups for both divisions and there will be no qualification races. The Gold Division purse will be $250, while the Silver Division purse will be $200.
While the Street Stock Series will be geared toward beginners as an entry-level series, more experienced drivers can still sign-up and participate. Podium eSports administrators will assign each driver a division to run in based on certain criteria. Drivers can view those criteria by visiting the Street Stock Series rules page.
All Podium eSports Street Stock Series races will be broadcast on Podium eSports’ Twitch channel, www.twitch.tv/podiumesports. The Street Stock Series will begin on January 2nd and have the honor of being Podium eSports’ first official broadcast.
